Engagement of Medical Consultant (MC) on Contract Basis with Fixed Hourly Remuneration at Reserve Bank of India, New Delhi

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for preparing a panel to fill up 2 (two) posts (One unreserved and One reserved for SC candidate) of Medical Consultant (MC) on contract basis, with fixed hourly remuneration for dispensaries of Reserve Bank of India at its Main Office Premises at 6, Sansad Marg, New Delhi - 110 001 and at other premises of the bank including its residential colonies in New Delhi so as to reach the Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Human Resource Management Department (Recruitment Section), 6, Sansad Marg, New Delhi - 110 001, on or before August 28, 2013.

  1. The Applicant should possess MBBS degree of any recognized University by the Medical Council of India in the allopathic system of medicine;

  2. The Applicant having post graduate degree in General Medicine can also apply for the post;

  3. The doctor should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in any hospital or as Medical Practitioner;

  4. The applicants having their own private dispensary or place of residence (registered) within a radius of 5 kms. from the dispensary of Reserve Bank of India at its Main Office Premises at 6, Sansad Marg, New Delhi - 110 011 and at other premises of the bank, including its residential colonies in New Delhi, will be given preference;

  5. The remuneration of the Medical Consultant on contract basis will be fixed with reference to the actual duty hours performed and will be all inclusive;

  6. The contract for engagement will be initially for a period of three years, which can be extended on such terms and conditions which are mutually agreeable to both the parties.

  7. The rate of remuneration and the duty hours (as envisaged now) is tabulated below:

09.30 a.m. to  12.30 p.m. and  01.00 p.m. to 03.45 p.m. (Monday to Friday)
Total duty hours: Maximum 30 hours per week

Rs. 450/- per hour for the first three years of contractual service; and

Rs.550/- per hour after completion of three years of contractual service.

Out of total monthly remuneration, a sum of Rs.1,000/- may be treated as conveyance expense.

11.00 a.m. to 02.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. to 05.00 p.m.
(Monday to Friday)
Total duty hours: Maximum 30 hours per week

  1. The Reserve Bank of India reserves the right to review the rate of remuneration from time to time and after the duty hours and location of dispensary at its discretion in case it becomes expedient to suit administrative and operative requirements.

  2. Interested and eligible candidates may please make an Application in the prescribed format as at Annex - (i). The application should be sent in a cover superscribed "Application for the post of Medical Consultant on Contract Basis (with fixed hourly remuneration)”.

Selection Procedure:

  1. The Reserve Bank of India will be conducting an interview for selection of panel to fill up 2 (two) posts (One unreserved and One reserved for SC candidate) of Medical Consultant (MC).

  2. The Board of Interview will have at least one qualified medical professional.

  3. The Bank will not enter into any correspondence with the applicants who have not been called for the interview.

  4. The shortlisted applicant/s after interview will be subjected to medical tests as per prescribed norms before engagement of the services of Medical Consultant (MC) at their own cost.

  5. The selected applicant has to sign an agreement for Contract with the Bank before engagement of the services of Medical Consultant (on contract basis) with fixed hourly remuneration.
