STATE LEVEL ESSAY COMPETITIONS FOR
SCHOOL STUDENTS IN WEST BENGAL, SIKKIM AND
THE UNION TERRITORY OF ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS
1. Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Kolkata proposes to conduct an essay competition for school students in West Bengal, Sikkim and the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands as per the details on topics given below:

3. GUIDELINES OF THE ESSAY COMPETITION are as under:
a) No entry fee.
b) Competition is open to all students studying in a School/ Junior College located in West Bengal, Sikkim and the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
c) Students who are family members of RBI employees are NOT eligible to participate.
d) The essay may be hand-written, typed or word processed.
e) Students may choose to write the essay in any one language: English, Bengali, Hindi or Nepali.
f) A student is eligible to submit only one essay.
g) Each entry should be enclosed with
(i) A declaration from the student that the essay is of original nature and prepared by the student himself/herself & (ii) A certificate from the School where the student is studying indicating the name of the student, name of the student's parent(s), home address, class of study and date of birth.
h) Essay has to be in hard copy (soft copy/emailed copies not accepted).
i) Each entry should be superscribed with the words, "Entry for the State Level Essay Competition for School Children of West Bengal, Sikkim and the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands" and should be sent to

The entries can also be dropped at the designated box kept at the Reception Counter of Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata.
j) Last date for receipt of entries is October 12, 2007.
k) Entry received after the last date is liable for rejection.
l) RBI is not responsible if entries are lost in transit or damaged.
m) Results of the essay competition will be announced in November 2007. Prize winners will be advised individually.
n) The decision of the panel of judges constituted by the Reserve Bank of India for evaluating the entries will be final.
4. This advertisement is hosted in the portal of RBI www.rbi.org.in available in English and Hindi. The portal provides a link to the site for "common person" (http://www.rbi.org.in/commonman) which is a multi-lingual website (including Bengali) having wealth of information on development economics, banking and finance.
