The Reserve Bank of India has launched the 79th round of the quarterly Industrial Outlook Survey (IOS) for reference period July-September 2017 (Q2:2017-18). The survey with a good size/industry representation gives an insight into the perception of the public and private limited companies engaged in manufacturing activities about their own performance and the prospects. The assessment of business sentiments for the current quarter and expectations for the ensuing quarter are based on qualitative responses to 23 parameters covering overall business situation, financial situation, demand conditions, price, employment and profit margins. The survey provides useful forward looking inputs for policymakers, analysts and business alike. A detailed article based on the results of four quarters for FY: 2016-17 was published in June 2017 issue of the RBI monthly Bulletin and the result for 78th round i.e for Q1:2017-18 was published on August 2, 2017. M/s Hansa Research Group Pvt. Ltd. has been authorised to conduct the survey for this quarter on behalf of the Reserve Bank of India. Select manufacturing companies will be approached by this agency during the quarter. However, other manufacturing companies, who are not approached by the agency, may also participate in this survey by downloading the survey schedule from the Reserve Bank’s website www.rbi.org.in. The survey schedule is placed under the head ‘Forms’ (available in the ‘More Links’ at the bottom of the home page) and sub-head ‘Survey’.
