Authorised dealers and full fledged money changers are now permitted to release foreign exchange in the form of foreign currency notes and coins to travellers abroad upto US $ 2,000 or its equivalent without prior permission of the Reserve Bank of India. The Reserve Bank of India has amended its instructions to this effect with a view to simplifying procedures.
