The Reserve Bank of India will shortly put into circulation coins of ` 5 with the theme "Birth Centenary of Mother Teresa".
The coin of above denomination shall conform to the following dimension, design and composition, namely :

Designs:
Obverse : The face of the coin shall bear the lion capitol of Ashoka Pillar with the legend "mel³ecesJe pe³eles" inscribed below, flanked on the left upper periphery with the word "Yeejle" in Hindi and on the right upper periphery flanked with the word "INDIA" in English. It shall also bear the denominational value "5" in International Numerals below the lion capitol flanked on the left lower periphery with the word "©he³es" in Hindi and right lower periphery with the word "RUPEES" in English.
Reverse : The reverse of the coin shall bear the portrait of "Mother Teresa" in the centre, flanked on the left upper periphery with the words "ceoj ìsjsmee" and left lower periphery with the word "peôceMeler" in Hindi. On the right periphery flanked with the word "BIRTH CENTENARY" and right lower periphery with the word "BIRTH CENTENARY" in English. Below the portrait year "1910-2010" written in international numeral.
The coins are legal tender as provided in the Indian Coinage Act, 1906. The existing Five Rupees Coins in circulation shall also continue to be legal tender.
