आज, रिज़र्व बैंक ने तिमाही आदेश बहियों, माल-सूचियों और क्षमता उपयोग सर्वेक्षण (ओबीआईसीयूएस) के 54वें दौर के परिणाम जारी किए, जो अप्रैल-जून 2021 के दौरान भारत के विनिर्माण क्षेत्र में मांग की स्थिति का एक स्नैपशॉट प्रदान करता है। सर्वेक्षण में 671 विनिर्माण1 कंपनियों को शामिल किया गया।

कोविद–19 महामारी की दूसरी लहर के कारण, देश के कई क्षेत्रों में कई प्रतिबंध लगाए गए, जिससे भारतीय विनिर्माण क्षेत्र में क्षमता उपयोग (सीयू) पर प्रतिकूल प्रभाव पड़ा; हालाँकि, Q1: 2020-21 में पहली लहर के दौरान लॉकडाउन और अन्य प्रतिबंधों के मद्देनजर देखे गए प्रभाव की तुलना में कम गंभीर थे (चार्ट-1)।

समग्र स्तर पर, विनिर्माण क्षेत्र के लिए सीयू 2021-22 की पहली तिमाही में घटकर 60.0 प्रतिशत रह गया, जो पिछली तिमाही में 69.4 प्रतिशत दर्ज किया गया था; एक साल पहले यह 47.3 फीसदी था।
