Taking into account the agency banks branches being open for conducting Government business, and with a view to providing flexibility to the banking system for its liquidity management, the Reserve Bank has decided to conduct the regular fixed rate Repo and Reverse Repo under the Liquidity Adjustment facility (LAF) and the Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) windows on March 25 and 26, 2017 (Saturday and Sunday).

The LAF repo window on Saturday and Sunday would in fact be an extension of the March 24, 2017 (Friday) LAF window. That is, banks could borrow any residual unused limit of the prescribed limit availed by the banks on March 24, 2017 (Friday).

The fixed rate Repo window will be made available between 9.00 am and 3.00 pm and the fixed rate Reverse Repo and the MSF window will be made available between 5:30 pm and 7.30 pm on both these days.

The facility on March 25, 2017 (Saturday) would be for 2-day tenor and facility on March 26, 2017 (Sunday) would be overnight tenor. i.e. the LAF/MSF operations on March 25 2017 (Saturday) and March 26 2017 (Sunday) would be reversed on March 27, 2017 (Monday).
