The Bank publishes two statutory reports,
the Annual Report of the Bank and the Report on Trend and Progress of Banking in
India. These reports along with the Report on Currency and Finance are documents
that not only relate to the Bank's operations during a given year but also reflect
economic events, matters related to banking and policy related to the financial
sector, and in a broader way the milieu of the times. They, thus, constitute an
important source material relating to India's financial and economic history.
For wider access, the History Cell has collated and digitised the complete set of
annual reports of the Bank since its inception in 1935 up to 1981. This constitutes
the History Documentation Project : Series No. 1.
In this series the Cell has also digitised the annual reports of the erstwhile Deposit
Insurance Corporation of India which published annual reports since 1962 to 1977
as well as the Reports of the erstwhile Agricultural Credit Board.
The History Documentation
