From October 19, 2016 (Wednesday), the Sovereign Gold Bonds issued on September 30, 2016 held in dematerialised form shall be eligible for trading on stock exchanges recognised by the Government of India under the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956. The Reserve Bank of India notified this in terms of Para 17 of the Scheme. Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme 2016 -17 - Series II was announced by the Government of India vide notification dated August 29, 2016.
