The Reserve Bank’s annual ‘Handbook of Statistics on the Indian Economy’ is a comprehensive source of data on a range of macroeconomic and financial variables (viz., output, prices, money, banking, financial markets, public finance, foreign trade, balance of payments and select socio-economic indicators) at multiple frequencies. Researchers, analysts, and students use this resource, including its near real-time on-line version, for tracking India’s economic progress as well as for empirical research and analysis. Over the years, the coverage of the Handbook has increased. This Handbook, the 27th in the series, includes 244 statistical tables contributed by various Departments of the Bank that produce macro-financial statistics. The time series in the Handbook and several other RBI publications are accessible on the Reserve Bank’s data portal, the Database on Indian Economy (weblink: https://data.rbi.org.in). The Handbook is also available on the RBIDATA mobile app, launched by RBI on February 18, 2025. Users can access over 11,000 macroeconomic and financial data series from the DBIE through the app. In addition, 8,090 other data series have been incorporated into the app. The publication is compiled by the Data Management and Dissemination Division (DMDD) of the Department of Statistics and Information Management (DSIM), under the overall guidance of Shri Anujit Mitra, Adviser-in-Charge, and Shri N Senthil Kumar, Adviser. The dedicated efforts of the DMDD team, led by Dr. Manjusha Senapati, Director, along with Smt.
