Notes: 1. The ‘tree cover’ is defined as tree patches outside recorded forest areas exclusive of forest cover and less than the minimum mappable area of one hectare.
2. For the year 2013 and from 2021 onwards, the data for Daman and Diu is clubbed with Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
3. Jammu & Kashmir includes data for UT of Jammu & Kashmir and UT of Ladakh except for the years 2021 and 2023.
4. Forest Survey of India (FSI) is being carried out country-wide, biennially, since 1987.
