Superintending Engineer (Vigilance)

Applications are invited from eligible civil engineers who have recently retired from Central/State Government or Public Sector Undertakings at a senior level for appointment on contract basis as Superintending Engineer (Vigilance) in Reserve Bank of India, Central Office Mumbai. The applicant should not be more than 62 years of age as on July 01, 2014. The incumbent will assist the Central Vigilance Cell of the Bank to deal with cases such as investigation of complaints relating to the Bank's construction projects from vigilance angle, examination of Chief Technical Examiner's Report etc.

Terms and conditions of appointment as Superintending
Engineer (Vigilance) in the Bank on contract basis.

1. Period:

The appointment will be for a period of two years from the date he/she takes up the appointment, subject to renewal. The contract is terminable on either side with a notice of three months.

2. Job Responsibilities

As Superintending Engineer (Vigilance), he/she will report to the Bank's Joint Chief Vigilance Officer. He/She will be required to deal with cases such as investigation of complaints in respect of Bank's construction projects from vigilance angle, examination of Chief Technical Examiner's reports, etc. He/She will also be required to draft/vet show cause notices, charge-sheets, etc. (connected with the above work) for issuance to the officials against whom action is considered necessary.

3. Emoluments

  1. He/She will receive, subject to tax, consolidated monthly emoluments of `45,000/- (Rupees forty five thousand only).

  2. He/She will be reimbursed a consolidated amount of `15,000/- (Rupees fifteen thousand only) per month towards conveyance expenses.

  3. He/She will not be entitled to any other perks/facilities from the Bank.

4. Housing Accommodation

The Reserve Bank will not provide any housing accommodation to him/her during the tenure of the contract.

5. Leave facility:

  1. He/She will be entitled for Casual Leave on pro-rata basis at the rate of 15 days per year, and

  2. Any absence beyond the above period will be treated as leave without pay.

6. Travelling and Halting Allowance

He/She will be entitled to traveling and halting allowances in respect of official tours undertaken during his appointment with the Bank, according to the Bank's rules as applicable to the Senior Officers in Grade ‘D’ of the Bank.

7. Provident Fund, Gratuity, Pension, etc.

During the contractual service he/she will not be entitled to Provident Fund/Pension or any other Superannuation benefits like Gratuity.

8. Conduct, Discipline and Appeal

During the period of his/her contract appointment, he/she shall be governed by the provisions containing in Chapter IV of Reserve Bank of India (Staff) Regulations, 1948.
